The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics has the following job opening:
The goal of the Chair of Data Science is to extract knowledge from data in order to make it useful for medicine, the environment and society. To this end, we represent the field of Data Science in research and teaching. We are looking for a new member to strengthen and complement our chair, especially for tasks in teaching and in the context of the project "Uncertainty Quantification", which is funded by the Helmholtz Association.
- research in the areas of stochastic modeling and statistical inference, in particular stochastic processes, uncertainty quantification and machine learning; scientific analysis and development of research software; collaboration in third-party funded research projects of the chair, as well as data analysis with applications in medicine (60 %)
- teaching (depending on the final assignment of tasks to the extent of up to 4 LVS) in the field of statistics and data science, including assistance with examinations and supervision of seminar papers and theses (25 %)
- project management, organization of events and workshops (possibly in cooperation with other institutions involved in the project) as well as collaboration in academic self-administration (15 %)
Employment is conductive to scientific qualification.
- salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L

- good knowledge in the development of research software (especially in the programming language R)
- experience in teaching statistics
- very good command of written and spoken English
- interest in interdisciplinary cooperation, especially in the field of medicine/natural sciences
- independent working style and organizational skills
- ability to work in a team
