Research Positions in Mathematical Physics and Probability Theory
Both Postdoc positions are limited until June 30, 2025, to work in the area of random matrix theory, high-dimensional probability and their applications in a broad sense. The successful applicants will join the Mathematical Physics group of Professor Gernot Akemann or the Probability Theory group of Professor Friedrich Götze at Bielefeld University, Germany.
The two groups enjoy a very lively research environment, including a joint regular seminar series and visitor program, as well as annual international workshops and summer schools in that area.
The positions are funded by the German Research Council DFG as part of the Collaborative Research Centre CRC 1283 "Taming uncertainty and profiting from randomness and low regularity in analysis, stochastics and their applications", Projects C6 and B5, with participating Faculties of Mathematics, Physics, Technology and the Centre for Mathematical Economics. Apart from conducting independent, original research the positions offer to participate in teaching and to undertake student supervision on a graduate level.
