The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics has the following job opening:
The goal of the Chair of Data Science is to extract knowledge from data in order to make it useful for medicine, the environment and society. To this end, we represent the field of Data Science in research and teaching. We are looking for a new member to strengthen and complement the chair, especially for tasks in teaching and research.
- research in the areas of stochastic modeling and statistical inference, in particular stochastic processes, uncertainty quantification and machine learning; scientific analysis and development of research software; collaboration in third-party funded research projects of the chair, as well as data analysis with applications in economics, the natural sciences and medicine (60 %)
- teaching in the field of statistics and data science, including assistance with examinations and supervision of seminar papers and theses (25 %)
- project management, organization of events and workshops (possibly in cooperation with other institutions involved in the project) as well as participation in academic self-administration (15 %)

- very good knowledge and research experience in the field of statistics or stochastic modeling with relevant publications, including at least a good knowledge of statistics; interest in research topics of the Chair of Data Science
- good knowledge in the development of research software (especially in the programming languages R or Python)
