Research Position - Information Extraction/Natural Language Processing
The Faculty of Engineering at Bielefeld University is looking for a research assistant to work on the EFRE project LLM4KMU. The project deals with the question of how smaller language models can be effectively adapted to specific application domains through fine-tuning, transfer, in-context learning, etc.. The aim of the project is to develop best practices for the use of LLMs in smaller companies.
The post holder will conduct research in the field of information extraction and develop methods for extracting information from published clinical studies. On this basis, a portal for searching and summarizing the results of clinical studies will be developed. Questions of robustness, reliability and avoidance of hallucinations play an important role in research.
The post holder will have the opportunity to carry out their own doctorate. The pursuit of a doctoral project is expressly desired.

Employment is conducive to scientific qualification.
- relevant scientific university degree in computer science, computational linguistics, data science or a related field of study
- ability to work scientifically, proven by a relevant Master's thesis
- strong analytical and communication skills

- salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L
