The position is located in the Theoretical Physics group at Bielefeld University. The successful candidate will conduct research in the Emmy Noether junior group of Dr. Adrien Florio in projects related to the real-time dynamics of the chiral anomaly using quantum and tensor network methods. Duties will also include co-supervision of Bachelor and Master students. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated scientist who will actively contribute to the scientific progress and management of the group and its activities in collaboration with other members.
The employment is conductive to scientific qualification.
Your Tasks
- perform research on the above-mentioned topics (80 %)
- publish their results in scientific journals and present at workshop/conferences (15 %)
- participate in the organization of the academic life in the physics department (5 %)

Your Profile
We expect
- completed relevant university degree (master or equivalent) in Physics
- knowledge in many-body physics, quantum field theory, lattice gauge theories and/or quantum information
- programming experience (e. g. Julia, Python or other language)
- good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- good communication skills (written and spoken)
- collaborative and team work abilities
- independent, self-directed and organized style of work
Preferred experience and skills
- familiarity with tensor network methods or quantum computations
