The Department of Genetics of Prokaryotes at the Faculty of Biology is known for its long-standing expertise in metabolic engineering of microorganisms in the context of industrial biotechnology. One focus is on research into the substrate utilisation of corynebacteria and their application for the production of industrially relevant compounds.
Research tasks (100%):
- metabolic engineering for the use of alternative substrates, especially of marine origin
- design and application of synthetic consortia with corynebacteria synthetic biology approaches for the production of amines
Employment is conducive to scientific qualification.
